The Canadian students and faculty made their way to Pearson International Airport from various points, some arising at 5:30 or 6:00 to make their buses or trains. After an hour delay at the airport, we departed at 5:45 for the flight to Cancun (just under four hours). We met our Mexican contingent (University of Michoacan professor Javier Salgado Ortiz and his three students), and departed for Campeche – a long 7 hour bus ride at night – arriving at 5:00 am local time at the Hotel Oceanview.

Welcome to the Blog/Web site for our 2018 Mexico field course. We’ll use this as a conduit to communicate with students over the next month, but once in Mexico will also use this to communicate to parents and friends about our activities in the field.
